Tcpdump: verbose output suppressed, use -v or -vv for full protocol decode It's almost as if there is a database at Microsoft that has cached "this domain / account is a Google account" and instructs Outlook to head straight there for authentication.Īnyone got any ideas on how I can resolve sudo tcpdump -i eth1 src 172.16.1.193 The autodiscover DNS record is never requested by the device. Using tcpdump, I can see when the add account process is initiated, 3 packets are sent to IP's belonging to Microsoft, then 1 to a Google IP, and then the device resolves Googles' IP's and connects to Google. It seems Outlook does not use the autodiscover process as the first step in checking if an account is a Gsuite account or Microsoft 365 account. I can't delete the Gsuite tenant or the Gsuite accounts, as they are still being used for other purposes such as Google Drive. Support seems to have reached a dead end and while the ticket remains open, they have not responded for over 72 hours now. Nothing in the DNS record points to any Google service in any way. There are no issues with it, it is absolutely correct. I have opened a ticket with support who have gone through an extensive number of tests around the DNS configuration. The Outlook apps for iOS and Android do not seem to have a similar function, and cannot be configured, although I recall some time last year they had a method. Outlook for Windows allows the user to "Set up my account manually" and bypass this problem. Outlook for Mac allows the user to select "Not a Google account?" and bypass this problem. This happens on all devices, regardless of if they were previously configured for Gsuite or fresh installs. When attempting to add an account to Outlook for Android or iOS, Outlook for Mac or Outlook for Windows, the user is redirected to the Google sign in rather than the Microsoft sign in. DNS records are set correctly, all checks in Microsoft 365 itself, the Connectivity Analyzer and Outlook autodiscover tests pass correctly.

I migrated a site from Gsuite to Microsoft 365 over a week ago.
